THREE girls allegedly caught shoplifting will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
Shoalhaven Police regularly patrol the Nowra CBD to deter theft and anti social behaviour.
Between 5.30pm and 6.00pm on Saturday patrolling officers noticed three girls in the CBD on several occasions.
Around 6pm officers stopped and spoke with the two 15-year-olds and a 13-year-old.
The girls, from Nowra and Worrigee, were evasive with their answers regarding what they had been doing in town and soon after police located an amount of property in a backpack one of the girls was carrying.
The items included makeup, marker pens, confectionary and earphones.
All items were new and still had tags attached to some.
The girls soon admitted to having stolen the items from several stores in the Nowra CBD.
The three were arrested and taken to the Nowra Police Station where their parents were contacted.
Each girl was later interviewed and each made admissions to theft and to graffiti damage in the CBD.
The recovered property will be returned to the stores.
